Fused silica

s made by melting of the silica sand with electric arc at temperature over 1700°C. Melt is cooling down and after cooling arises amorphous modification of the silica – fused silica that has following characteristic properties:

• high content of SiO2 >99,5 %
• very low coeficient of the thermal expansion20 - 1000°C = 8.10 ^-7
• excelent thermal shock resistance

These characteristics of the fused silica are reflecting in usable properties of the products manufactured by us.

At the present we produce following kind of products:

Shaped products

These are made mainly by pressing, eventually by hand ramming into the metal moulds or wooden steel-sheet lined moulds. Products with hydraulic bond can be made by vibrating into the moulds too. All delivered shaped products are calcinated to temperature 800°C min. in the end of the production process.

Non-shaped products

Dry mixtures of the fused silica, after binder addition, are used for filling the dilatation joints, cracks in refractory lining and for making of the monolithic lining.

Masses can be used in very high temperatures immediately after binder addition and stirringup.

Dry mixtures are delivered packed in 25 KG paper sacks. Plastic mastic is delivered in sealable plastic containers from 5 KG to 50 KG.
